Narrow, marsh-like transition zone between low prairie and base of road levee. Carex stricta-dominant, Eleocharis sp. (E. erythropoda or E. palustris), Phalaris arundinacea-subdominant, Stachys tenuifolia, and Typha angustifolia-subdominant.. Tract lies within a large block of DNR-owned grasslands (prairies, sedge meadows, fens, long-abandoned pastures and fields) that has the potential of becoming the largest and richest prairie in the state.
