Fen curves around east and south portions of the lake. Many "No Trespassing" signs posted. Mostly herbaceous Cyperaceae with shrubs on borders. Actively maintained by The Nature Conservancy. Fay Lake Road borders on east and south side fo fen. 30m south of lake, west (80m) of the wooden dock and boardwalk. In more shrubby/wooded Carex. One shrub/tree over 3m tall every 6-9m2. Trees/shrubs: Tamarack, Cornus, Rhamnaceae, elm, Carex, and Asteraceae on ground. Ground moist, but no standing water. Large hummocks of Carex stricta.
Population - 1-2 individuals every 4m2 for 30m2. Found in drier places between hummocks.
