Terminal cymes of 3 flowers, each 5.5-6.0 cm across and lacking fragrance; petals broad orbicular. Styles united for most of length and exceeding stamen. Sepals glabrous. Leaves dark green; surface hairs adpressed; undersides glabrous except along veins. Stems arching, reddish to medium brown; bark exfoliating in small flakes. Multi-stemmed shrub; 2 m with similar spread.
