Lake side prairie fen. Mostly Cyperaceae, Cornus, and button bush dominated marl zone with some Asteraceae and Dasiphora fruticosa near the wooded borders. Invaded by Phragmites, Phalaris arundinacea, and Frangula alnus. In large southern section of prairie fen, in southwest portion, 20m east of Little Portage Lake, 400m north of lakeside cottages, shrub-zone of Cornus and Sambucus 10m to the west on lakeshore. Inundated flat area dominated by Schoenoplectus, other Cyperaceae, and button bush. Ground flat, wet, and dark.
Population - Flowering. Common and dominant, 10-15 per 1m2 for 100m2.
