Mostly open prairie fen with strong prairie component. Bisected by Little Goose Creek. Some large swaths of Frangula alnus being treated by Michigan Nature Association. Weedy areas develop further downstream where fen narrows. Highly variable in regards to health of fen with some patches appearing pristine and other complet Phragmites australis stands. Private property is being heavily encroached by shrubs and turning the high quality fen into a patchwork of degraded/healthy fen. Typha angustifolia dominated area in southeast portion of prairie fen; wetter area with many sedge including Carex lasiocarpa, C. aquatilis; other species common in area including Thelypteris palustris, Lythrum salicaria, and Eupatorium perfoliatum.
