Lakeside prairie fen around Braxee Lake and smaller Little Braxee Lake to the east. Sedge and Dasiphora fruticosa dominant with Salix, Cornus, and Toxicodendron vernix shrubs. Dense stands of Typha with moderately deep water separate fen on north side of Braxee Lake. Heron rookeries (old bog and current rookery) border the north side of fen. Invaded with Typha angustifolia, Phalaris arundinacea, Phragmites australis, and Lythrum salicaria. In section of prairie fen southwest of Braxee Lake. In southern most portion on Steven's property. In the transition zone to shrub-carr, 40m from lake. Area dominated by Carex, Dasiphora fruticosa, and Lythrum salicaria with many Cornus and Salix shrubs. Ground with standing water. Sulfur smell.
Population - Common, shrubs, 1m tall. Large shrubs > 1m, 1m west of quadrat.
