Prairie fen with sedge meadow zone common throughout, wooded fen with many tamaracks (Larix laricina); lots of Frangula alnus. Very long, narrow fen. Split by the headwaters of the Grand River. East side owned by The Nature Conservancy, west side mostly privately owned. Grand River is too deep/silty to cross without use of footbridges. Many zones in fen. Periodic shurbby zones; invasives; Phalaris arundinacea common. Lots of Hierochloe odorata around. Quadrat underneath Larix laricina and Juniperus sp. canopy. Dasiphora fruticosa, Frangula alnus, and Toxicodendron radicans surrounding. About 15m south and west of stream. Galium boreale, Carex stricta, Convolvulus sp. common in herbaceous layer.
